For the last four years I've had the pleasure of working out at the Pickathon music festival as the post producer. It's a pretty unique festival, with unique challenges. The team creates creative content for live broadcast, we do custom edits on site, and air them live as the weekend progresses. We produce almost eight hours of custom creative content over the span of three days (if you don't know... that's a bunch of content). This involves managing sixteen editors, working with creative teams shooting different segments, controlling creative in both production and in post production, a lot of coffee, a few brawls, and even some fantastic music if I can get away for five minutes. I've attached just a few of the things we made together in 2015.
Had a lot of fun making a video for my friends in Dirty Revival. Check them out! Worked as a one man band on this one: director/producer/shooter/editor. Concept and writing by "Dirty Revival".
I worked on this wonderfully smart project for The Oregon Education Investment Board through the creative agency Metropolitan Group. The videos were produced and dreamed up by my friend Matt Schulte and shot by the keen eye of Ben Garvey.
This series aired at large community events around the state and highlighted easy ways to promote early language literacy at home - which is one of the key ways to foster future success.
Matt's plan focused on documentary storytelling in multilingual households and the everyday people that live in rural areas around Oregon. Kristen Gimbel and her team at the state did great ground work and found fabulous families to follow: spanish speaking mothers with bilingual kids, avid hunters in Coos Bay, native families in Grande Ronde - amazingly cute Russian kids, parents, and grandparents. I like that these films aren't pushy and don't have interviews, each one is just a slice of life - but still shows the natural ways we influence the literacy of our children in everyday life.
Produced by: Metropolitan Group
